Sam & Lee’s Wedding at Warmsworth Hall, Doncaster

Samantha & Lee booked me in early in 2015 to photograph their wedding. I knew when I first met them that this was going to be a “not normal” occasion. Lee is an amazing musician and plays in a few metal bands, Samantha engages the life of a rock’n’roll wife completely. They booked me because they hate having stuffy posed pictures taken, but they also did not want cheesy. Selfies and friends would look after that side of things across the day. Hearing the plans of the day develop (dress, hair, groomsmen attire) I knew it was going to be different, but it was also set in the regal setting of the 300 year old Warmsworth Hall, a complete juxtapose. This in itself caused me to double think how I would approach and shoot their wedding day. I decided to do it was I would do any other “normal” day. Nothing cool, unusual or trendy. Just capture their day as it opened up in front of me in a natural and honest way, and try and deliver them some additional wow in the short session we had together.
So this is their day. It was laid back, intimate and emotional, with a good helping of their own character thrown in. They are extremely happy with their full collection as it shows them honestly as they are, which ultimately is the aim of what I do.
